With a rapidly expanding portfolio of projects, EIDEL is now looking for a Department Manager for Project Management to join our team and help us reach our ambitious goals.

About the Role

As Department Manager for our Project Management Department, you will lead our team of project managers and play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex, innovative projects. You will be responsible for building a strong team culture, optimizing resources across projects, and driving strategic development aligned with company objectives. This is a leadership role with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, and you will be part of the Operations Leadership Team, reporting directly to the COO.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the project management team, focusing on well-being, development, and performance.

• Contribute to optimizing resource allocation across projects for effective delivery.

• Identify competence gaps and support professional growth through targeted training and knowledge sharing.

• Promote collaboration with other departments for holistic, efficient solutions.

• Lead recruitment with HR to ensure the department meets current and future needs.

• Develop and implement departmental strategies, manage risks, and drive innovation.

• Own and improve internal processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance.

• Ensure delivery on goals, KPIs, and budgets.

• Represent the department in bids and project start-ups.

• Manage selected smaller projects as needed.

Desired Background

• Higher education (Bachelor’s or above) in engineering, industrial economics, business administration, or similar. Extensive relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.

• 5–10 years as a project manager, with at least 3 years in a personnel leadership role.

• Proven people management experience, including development, motivation, and team building.

• Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PRINSIX) and tools. Experience managing product development projects from concept to completion, risk management, and customer dialogue.

• Strong system understanding and ability to grasp complex issues and support the team.

• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and process improvement. Proficiency in Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

• Must be able to obtain security clearance up to Hemmelig / NATO Secret.
