About the Role
As Hardware Manager at EIDEL, you will lead our teams working with FPGA, electronics, and mechanical development. You’ll be part of the Operations Leadership Team, reporting directly to the COO, and play a key role in shaping the future of our hardware capabilities.
This is a leadership role with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. You will be responsible for building a strong team culture, optimizing resources across projects, and driving strategic development aligned with company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the hardware team (currently 10 engineers) in their daily work and professional development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Plan and execute recruitment processes in collaboration with HR.
- Ensure optimal resource allocation across projects and tasks.
- Identify competence gaps and facilitate training and knowledge sharing.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
- Contribute to budgeting and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Develop and implement strategic goals for the hardware department.
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal processes and routines.
Desired Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field. Additional qualifications in leadership or management (e.g., MBA, Technology Management) are highly valued.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in HW product development within the following competence areas: FPGA, Analog and digital board designs, production, assembly and test. Deep knowledge in two or more areas is an advantage. Additionally, we expect you to have at least 3 years of leadership experience managing hardware development teams.
- Strong foundation in hardware development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and drive continuous improvement in development processes.
- Experience in managing projects and resources is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with quality systems and HSE requirements.
- Proficiency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
- Must be eligible for security clearance up to HEMMELIG / NATO SECRET.
